Image like Horizon HouseHorizon House is Townhall II’s 10-bed, residential treatment facility for women with substance use disorders (SUD). We provide daily, evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment services along with integrated mental health services. We provide ASAM 3.1 to 3.5 services, which include grief counseling, anger management, communication skills and other emotional and behavioral support.

Horizon House is a secure environment at a discreet location for the protection of the women in recovery. It provides a safe and nurturing, home-like environment where women are supported while they learn long-term recovery skills with a structured daily schedule. The house is staffed 24/7, so there is always someone available to help clients. There’s a beautiful, safe backyard for recreation and every client has their own private bedroom and bathroom. The house has accessible showers and entryways for those with disabilities.

Pregnant women, and women with children, are welcome to receive care at our facility. Children can visit at scheduled times during the week and may stay overnight on weekends. For other visitors, there are scheduled visitation times during the week and on weekends.

Most residents complete the Horizon House program in 90 days. After completion of the program, residents are transitioned to a safe and sober living environment within the community.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Individual counseling for mental health and SUDs, specialized for residents with a history of trauma or abuse.
  • Group counseling for residents and their family members.
  • Individualized case management.
  • Involvement in, and peer support for, self-support recovery activities such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
  • Self-support recovery groups:
    • Nutrition Education
    • Healthy Relationship Education
    • Recovery Education
    • Coping Skills for Trauma
  • Structured daily schedule to promote recovery.
  • Transportation assistance.
  • Transition plans for returning to safe home environments or sober living facilities.

ELIGIBILITY AND COST

Adult women who have had an assessment and been determined to need a residential treatment program are able to attend Horizon House. Residents of Portage County, Ohio, and pregnant women, are given priority for admission. Other admission criteria are discussed during a potential client’s first appointment with a Townhall II counselor.

Horizon House is funded through a Women’s Special Services Grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, and the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County

DONATE TO HORIZON HOUSE

Horizon House is a facility run by Townhall II Integrated Health Network, which is a not-for-profit organization funded by county, state and federal grants, as well as donations by the community. As such, any donations to Horizon House help offset the costs of running the facility.

The women of Horizon House can always use these everyday items:

  • Cleaning supplies – detergent, cleansers, sponges, disinfecting wipes, etc.
  • Toiletries – body soap, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner.
  • Toilet paper and paper towels.
  • Garbage bags – 13 gallon.
  • Non-perishable food items.
  • Coffee and creamer.
  • Gloves for food preparation.
  • Scrubs – all sizes.

We provide 24-hour emergency services designed to respond to immediate needs of people in the Portage County area and to sustain the support systems of communities throughout Ohio.

 

Prevention Education

Our certified prevention specialists offer evidence-based programs to educate the community on substance use and abuse, sexual assault, personal body safety, suicide awareness and parenting.

Rape Crisis Center

Townhall II is the Portage County Rape Crisis Center, serving victims of any violent crime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All services for victims of crime are free and confidential.

 

Project Detour: Driver Intervention

Project Detour is an educational, 72-hour, residential, state-certified driver intervention program for individuals, 18 years and older, with a first-time OVI offense.
