What are ACEs?
ACEs stands for Adverse Childhood Experiences. This includes experiences like child abuse, parent or household mental illness, substance abuse in the home, witnessing domestic violence or death of a parent/sibling. The more ACEs a child experiences, the more likely the child may suffer from poor academic achievement, heart disease, and substance abuse later in their lives.
This video shows how to prevent ACEs from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
