Guided Practice Saying NO!
If someone's actions, questions, or comments don't respect your body safety rights, it is OKAY to say NO. Sometimes we think it isn't okay to say no to an adult or older kid in charge. But remember if anyone, even people who are older or bigger than you, ask you to do anything unsafe you have the right to say no, if you can. Use a strong, serious voice, no laughing or giggling so they know you are being serious and want them to stop.
Practice saying "no!" to a sibling or family member in the house. Say it in a loud voice. Be assertive. Do NOT laugh or smile. The more we practice being serious, the easier it is to be assertive.
