Project DetourWhat is Project Detour? Project Detour is a 72-hour State certified driver intervention program for first-time DUI offenders. The program consists of education, individual interviews, small group discussions, films and speakers provided by consultants who have extensive backgrounds in alcohol/drug education or are certified chemical dependency counselors. Who participates in Project Detour? The State of Ohio requires that persons 18 years and older, who are convicted for the first time of driving under the influence of a chemical substance, attend a certified driver intervention program. Where is Project Detour held? The 72-hour DUI “school” is conducted at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 800 Mondial Parkway, Streetsboro, Ohio, from Thursday at 6 p.m. through Sunday at 6:00 p.m. What is the cost of Project Detour? The program costs $350. Payment is required in full prior to being scheduled to attend the program. Payment must be made via cashier's check or money order only. No personal checks are accepted.
