Truancy Prevention Through Mediation Program
This program gives parents/caregivers and the student’s school the opportunity
to work together to address the many issues that surround truancy. This process
reduces the student’s chances of school drop out and delinquency. It also gives
parents/caregivers the opportunity to get more involved in their children’s
education.

Cost?
- Mediation involving parents and their juvenile
child are free to Portage County Residents. Donations are welcome.
- Truancy Mediation is free in the participating
school districts.
- Neighbor/Neighbor and Tenant/Landlord Mediations
are $15 per party.
- Other mediations are based on a sliding fee scale.
