What are the services provided by Townhall II’s Educational Services Department?

Townhall II offers a variety of educational and prevention programs aimed at keeping children, teens, and adults healthy and safe.  The agency has presentations for students, school staff, parents, professionals, and the community.  There are fees for some programs.  Programs include:

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Programs

§         Training and support for professionals

§         Educational programs for at-risk youth and adults

§         Individual support and referral services for women and female youth

§         Pregnant and parenting female adolescent programs

§         Prevention groups that provide alternative activities for youth, including Teen Institute (high school)

§          One-time presentations for organizations, businesses, and other community businesses

 Child Violence Prevention Programs

§         Townhall II’s Families First program provides county-wide family education services, developing parenting skills and healthy family interaction

§         Body safety education for elementary school children  (preschool- grade 5)

§         Child abuse prevention, identification and training and support for professionals

§         Bullying prevention and education programs for elementary school children

§         One-time presentations for organizations, businesses and other community groups

§         Child protection, bullying prevention, and Internet safety presentations for parents

 HIV/AIDS Prevention Programs

§         HIV testing and intervention services

§         Consultation and support for professionals

§         Community awareness activities

§          Presentations for organizations as needed

 Sexual Assault Prevention Programs

§         Educational programs for youth, ages 11-19

§         Training programs for professionals

§         Community awareness activities

§         Educational programs for youth and adults

§         Information and referral for sexual assault victims

 

Divorce Education Programs: “Children in the Middle” & “After the Storm”

  • Divorce education programs for parents and/or children experiencing conflict as a result of: divorce, separation, or families living separately

  • Helps families deal with parental conflict and the children’s reaction to the divorce or separation

  • Free to Portage County Residents

  • Groups are held during the week and on weekends
