There are many different ways to join the Townhall II family and make Portage
County healthier.
Volunteer Opportunities
What types of volunteer opportunities does Townhall II offer?
24-hour Helpline: Townhall II specializes in crisis intervention training, which
includes over 40 hours of lecture and discussion, over 20 hours of supervised
role-playing, and 12 hours of observation and team building activities. Participants
learn about depression, suicide prevention, sexual assault, HIV and AIDS, addiction
and more. Trainees who successfully complete the training are asked to fulfill a 200
hour minimum volunteer commitment..
Crime Victim Advocacy: Townhall II offers Crime Victim Advocacy training for
persons interested in volunteering with the Victim Outreach Program. Crime Victim
Advocates provide hands-on emotional support and assistance to victims of violent
crimes. Crime Victim Advocacy training includes crisis intervention training, lecture,
discussion, supervised role-playing, and skill building activities. Participants learn
about listening & communication skills, healthy boundaries, self-care, sexual assault,
domestic violence, stalking, and other violent crimes, as well as, tour a Sexual
Assault Nurse Examiners Unit. Trainees who successfully complete the training are
asked to fulfill a 200 hour minimum volunteer commitment. Please see the current

Victim Outreach Program Teen Team: Townhall II Victim Outreach Program Teen
Team also offers volunteer opportunities for teens currently enrolled in high school
with parental permission. All Teens are responsible for their own transportation. Must
complete a brief interview, submit an application, and complete an initial training.
Training includes listening and communication skills, healthy boundaries, self-care,
Townhall II services, lecture, discussion, and skill building activities. For more

Horizon House is a halfway house for women recovering from substance use
disorders. People interested in volunteering with this program should complete and
submit an application first.

Residential Aide Position
Substance Abuse Residential Program for
women seeking PT position. Hours can vary
from 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift and weekends.
Minimum qualifications include high school
diploma and current, valid OH driver's license.
Experience working in behavioral healthcare
programs or teaching/training adults preferred
but willing to train qualified applicants. Hourly
rate range $9.50-$10.50 bi-weekly. We are an
EEO employer and provider of services.
