Project Detour
What is Project Detour?
Project Detour is a 72-hour State certified driver intervention program for
first-time DUI offenders. The program consists of education, individual
interviews, small group discussions, films and speakers provided by
consultants who have extensive backgrounds in alcohol/drug education or are
certified chemical dependency counselors.
Who participates in Project Detour?
The State of Ohio requires that persons 18 years and older, who are
convicted for the first time of driving under the influence of a chemical
substance, attend a certified driver intervention program.
Where is Project Detour held?
The 72-hour DUI “school” is conducted at:
Wingate Inn, 9705 State Route 14, Streetsboro, Ohio
Thursday at 6 p.m. through Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
What is the cost of Project Detour?
The program costs $350. Payment is required in full prior to being scheduled
to attend the program. Payment must be made via cashier's check or money
order only. No personal checks are accepted.
